Summer and Fall Scrapbook

On the weekend of July 25th-26th, the MNSC hosted a women's training event. Activities included road running (top right) where, from left to right, Sue Foster, Ruth Hall, Sue O'brien, and Saranne Taylor show their form.

Swimming in Flagstaff Lake (middle right) where Alice Goodwin (yellow t-shirt) is second from right.

The group relaxing (lower right) after a 14 mile Bigelow Range traverse. The handler, Karl Johnson, is at far right in photo.

On Saturday, September 12th, the Maine Nordic Ski Club met in Auburn under blue skies and gentle breezes for a roller ski clinic. Our coach, Will Sweetser, (balancing skier with hat on) led us in many dryland drills and roller ski routines as well as technique training. Also in photo are Owen Haskell (orange shirt), Sarah Dominick Sweetser (sitting in background), Karl Johnson, reknowned clothing model (balancing next to Will), Sue Foster (sitting with blue shirt), and Dan Works (safety vest).

Resting after our 3 hour training session (lower photo to left). Also pictured are members John Eldridge (leaning on Dan's car) and Josh Decker (standing with white t shirt) who recently joined the MNSC with his wife Bridgette.

A long roller ski from North New Portland up to Flagstaff Lake was organized by the MNSC
on October 17th. Perfect fall weather and freshly groomed and packed black powder allowed members a
2 to 3 hour roller ski (this distance is most common, 2 to 4 times per month, at the masters level).
Special thanks are in order for Will and Sara Dominick-Sweetser who graciously donated a Saturday
afternoon of van support to the MNSC. Also, all photos taken by Will Sweetser.
