A Word From Our Executive Director
On behalf of the Board of Directors, volunteers and staff of the American Red Cross in Schuylkill & E. Northumberland County, I would like to thank you for checking out our site.  In the coming months, we hope to have much more available for you.

If you have an interest in becoming a volunteer in our chapter, please call us.  We would love to hear from you.

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.  Our chapter of the American Red Cross serves all of Schuylkill (with the exception of 5 municipalities on the Luzerne County border) and parts of Eastern Northumberland County.

Some of the services that we provide include: Disaster Services and Training, Service to Military Families and Veterans, Blood Services, Health and Safety Services including training in First Aid, CPR, Swimming, and Lifesaving, International Tracing Services, and HIV/AIDS Training.

All money received to carry out these services comes from voluntary contributions of individuals like you.  No money is received from any government organization.

Lifeline: A New Service Being Offered To Chapter Residents
Lifeline, a home monitoring service, allows people to continue to live on their own when circumstances of age or disability may otherwise prevent.  A representative is standing by to help 24 hours a day.  One press of a button activates a small in-home unit.  This puts the person in need in touch with a caring LIFELINE representative who talks to that person to investigate what kind of help is needed.  The price for the service is surprisingly affordable and there is no need to make a long-term commitment.  For additional information, please call Jodi at the Pottsville Office.

We welcome your help in carrying out our work.  We depend on volunteers from each of the communities we represent.  For more information on our services or to inquire about being a volunteer, call one of our offices - Pottsville (570) 622-9550, shenandoah (570) 462-0279 or Shamokin (570) 648-3601.
